Do the facts support this serious claim?
Immigration is a key part of Trump’s platform, and his claim that illegals are treated better than military veterans is a story that’s been circulating for a while now, especially in light of the Veterans Affairs scandal.
We’ve done some research on this and uncovered some facts:
Fact: The city of Sacramento is working on a bill to extend federally funded health insurance to over one million undocumented immigrants. Meanwhile, The VA in Los Angeles cancelled 40,000 critical treatments and diagnostic tests for veterans suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses in the effort to cover up a 10 year backlog.
Fact: In New York, up to 40% of the patients getting dialysis treatment for kidney disease are illegal immigrants, according to doctors. Meanwhile, a VA hospital in Memphis was found to be using contaminated kidney dialysis machines, lab tests were not done in a timely manner and three patients died due to negligence.
Fact: In Arizona, for the year 2009, the health care cost for illegals was 700 million. Meanwhile, at least 40 veterans died in Phoenix waiting for treatment.
