Best-selling children’s book is a good start

It seems like patriotism is loosing popularity these days.  As a country, we are pulling away from the Constitution, from the flag and even from referencing God in our lives.  This is troubling to many Americans.

So how do you start the conversation with this latest generation?  How to you instill in them a pride for this great nation?  How do you guide them to be able to handle the challenges of the world when they grow to be young adults?

Legendary country music star Lee Greenwood asked himself these questions.  That inspired him to write a children’s book that immediately rose to be an Amazon best-seller.  The book is titled “Proud to Be An American.”

Its is based on his iconic 1985 CMA Award winning song, “God Bless The USA” and is intended to expose young children to these moving lyrics and teach them about patriotism.

In a Fox News Insider interview, Greenwood explains his purpose was to give parents and grandparents an instrument to teach children the meaning of patriotism and why its important.

The beautifully illustrated story is about a grandfather and grandson on a road trip across the USA.  They visit several national landmarks along the way and learn about the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who fought to defend this great nation, including paying the ultimate price.
